In this “Trader Jacks Restaurant Rarotonga” article I will be sharing with you my personal experience. I am dedicated in giving my readers the most honest food reviews.

The Restaurant

The atmosphere was ok, there were not that many people when we arrived but they were close to closing. The restaurant being very close to the ocean had been hit by a major hurricane many years prior, so you could tell that they hadn’t done much on refurbishments. It didn’t seem very cozy, and the lighting wasn’t very warm.

The Location

Smack bang by the ocean with waves crashing in, there was no real beach. Its in the town center and this place is also used to launch boats. Not the nicest location to grab a bite to eat unless you have never been to an island before.

“ If you want a decent meal for a decent price and don’t mind the location, then this is the place to go. ”

The Food

Ika Mata was yum, great flavours and fresh ingredients. Ika Mata is raw fish cured in Lemon juice and topped with coconut cream, spices and fresh vegies. Portion size was pretty good, enough for one person and only 16.50 NZ. The Fish and Chips came with two large pieces of fish and plenty for one person.

The Staff

The service was delightful and professional. They offered us a table, despite being close to closing and the food came out after 20min. Happy with the service!
