  • Name of Restaurant: Charlies Bar & Restaurant
  • Location: Cook Islands – Rarotonga
  • Food/Drinks Reviewed: Mutiny on the Bounty Cocktail & Chocolate Sunday

In this “Charlies Bar & Restaurant Rarotonga” article I will be sharing with you my personal experience. I am dedicated in giving my readers the most honest food reviews.

The Restaurant

The atmosphere seemed like a local pub, lots of locals playing darts. Oh yes they had darts under lights, which was pretty cool…something to do while you are waiting. The restaurant itself was nothing modern, but had a good island vibe.

The Location

Its right by the beach overlooking the coral reef and endless ocean, which is beautiful. We were there at night however to just grab a bite to eat. On the one side of the restaurant you have the beach, on the other side the main road. Rarotonga does have one main road that goes around the island, so most public places are by the road to attract tourists.

“ If you want to grab some pub grub and don’t care about the display of cocktails, then this is the place to go. ”

The Drink and Dessert

Mutiny on the Bounty Cocktail cost 15 dollars NZ and looked like a Milo Chocolate drink in a glass. And this wasn’t even a cocktail glass, just a juice glass with no decorations. They did however add quite a bit of alcohol. The Chocolate Sunday was pretty good, cookies and cream ice cream and quite large for 10 dollars and enough for 2 people to share.

The Staff

The ambiance is welcoming. The Staff took a bit longer to get to us, but they were very friendly and they seemed to know what they were doing.
